It wasn't so long ago that we got a visit from one of parents of one of The Boy's friends. This parent stopped by, ostensibly for a social visit but really to try to sell us "environmentally friendly" products out of a catalog. We listened politely, had a coffee with her, and declined to buy a gallon of lemon-juice based cleaner for $15.
These days, it seems like everyone is looking for a business to get into -- especially with the economy down. And at the same time, I know, there's men out there scrambling to get a Mother's Day present for the mom(s) in their lives. Well, I've got one word for you:
Lia Sophia
What? It counts as one word if it's a name, doesn't it?
Lia Sophia sells jewelry. Really great, neat looking, beautiful accessories that would serve as a great present for the Mom in your life. But beyond that, Lia Sophia lets you get more involved, if that's what you want, by selling their jewelry and arranging for others to sell it. You can just go to their site and buy their jewelry, or you could host parties to sell the jewelry yourself and qualify for monthly bonuses and gifts, or even go it one step further and start your own business by becoming an advisor.
Now, some of these are big steps: MEN, DO NOT ASSUME THAT YOU CAN PICK OUT DECENT JEWELRY ON YOUR OWN. Also, anything with a sports logo on it is not an acceptable present. Also, if you're going to get into business, you should consult with some trusted advisors (someone other than your daily horoscope.)
But the jewelry looks great, and if you're looking for jewelry, or a chance to earn some extra income, it's worth checking into.

I like things that sparkle so I'll check it out. When you have a weird sense of humor like mine you often get in trouble with the wife, so it helps to have forgive-me-gifts squirreled around the house.
