30 Things "The Scream" is screaming, 1. (Is This Art?)(MiniBest)

Edvard Munch's The Scream, or one of them, anyway, just became the highest-priced piece of art in history, selling for $119,900,000.  The previous-record holder was a Picasso, but who cares about previous record holders?

To celebrate this milestone in wastefulness, I am going to, for the next 30 days, post a caption for The Scream.

"But where will Mitt hang me?"

It's kind of sad how rich people waste their money. Think what you could do with that much money to actually help people. It bugs me to think that what Warren Buffett or Bill Gates has in their swear jar could pay off all my debts. I mean $120 million for a picture you could get a pint of for $10 at Target? Jesus Christ.

I am pretty sure I could create a painting 1/10 as good and I would only charge 1/100 the price!

I still say Van Gaugh is should be the highest selling artist. Of course, most of his stuff is hanging in museums rather than being in private collections.

A hundred Star Wars Questions! Thirty posts to go along with The Scream? You set yourself some pretty high tasks, my friend. I won't try to defend the price tag on this painting except to say that the oil painting you've included is the best version of Munch's masterpiece. The one that recently sold was only a quick pastel and, in my opinion, is markedly inferior to the others. For this reason, I decided not to bid on this one.

Funny. "Where will Mitt hang me"?

I don't know why this painting sold for so much. I do like it...but yeah...that seems way overpriced for something a kid could draw with a crayon.
