My lawn = Frankenlawn!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Scotts® for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Here is why my lawn looks so terrible:  Because the soil is bad.

SEE? Like I told Sweetie, and I’m telling you, it’s not that I don’t do any real yard work, and it’s not that my annual lawn budget is about $4.00, and it’s certainly not that my total extent of lawn-care knowledge amounts to “barely being able to avoid being stung to death by bees.”

It’s that the soil in our area is terrible.

That’s my conclusion, at least, after years of working to turn my lawn into a beautiful area where I and the kids and Sweetie and wildlife will want to hang out and ending up with what appears to be a plant graveyard: bad soil.

I concluded that after watching the Professor across the street work on HIS lawn, which is a perfectly immaculate vision of grass and trees and flowers. One of his secrets is this thing he’s got, the Scotts® Snap® Spreader System.

The Snap Spreader System is this little doohickey that lets him spread his fertilizer or weedkiller or supplements or whatever easily and with no mess or improper amounts.  Like Scott says, “just Snap, Lock and Go!  To get a great lawn in a ---- Snap®!”

What can I say? I like slogans.

Anyway, his Snap Spreader System is a big reason why his lawn looks good and my lawn is going to be burned by villagers carrying torches – but that’s not the only basis I have for getting my own Spreader System; I’m also hoping to get some of the prizes Scotts is giving away in their Scotts® Snap perks on Facebook.  All I (or you) have to do is "like" Scotts ® Facebook page for the chance to win some great prizes.

So THIS year might finally be the year my lawn gets going and stops making me look bad in front of the neighbors, which is good because I’m getting tired of having to use the secret tunnel to get out of the neighborhood.

That's better than their usual commercials with that Scottish guy yelling, "Feed your lawn. FEED IT!!!!"

Damn Scots.

This is why I sold the house with the big yard and moved into a townhouse where professional gardeners take care of the landscaping. I sit on the porch, watch them mow and pick up tips to improve my Spanish. I think they're saying, "Why is that fat guy always sitting around staring at us?"

That screaming Scot just made me laugh. He does have a good point though. No lawn can look great on its own. It has to be nurtured.

Even the best-looking house in the world wouldn't look as good as it's supposed to be if it had a terrible-looking lawn. it is a combination of both looking good that make a lot truly great.
