Brilliant post. Charles Schulz very much channeled the insecurities of the modern human psyche through Peanuts, and "Sack" may indeed have been his finest moment doing so. RIP
I remember that storyline, too.. It was also one of my favorites.. But I also remember that when Charlie Brown went to the doctor and showed him his "baseball rash", he also explained why he was wearing the sack; he said, and I quote..
"Someone tried to autograph my head!"
