I've mentioned a couple of times on this blog and others the eyeglasses from Zenni Optical -- glasses I first heard of a while ago and then was reminded about by a review of them posted on Examiner.com (find it at http://www.examiner.com/x-28795-Brooklyn-Liberal-Examiner~y2009m11d13-Cheap-eyeglasses-are-a-reality-Check-out-Erics-review-of-Zenni-Optical), and the reason I keep bringing it up is because I think it's important to know that you don't have to spend a lot of money to get good eyeglasses.
When Sweetie needed glasses a couple years ago, we had no real options but to go to the mall store, where they had hundreds of pairs of glasses all costing hundreds of dollars. There simply were no cheap pairs, or even affordable pairs. There was no choice, really, but to get expensive frames and lenses.
Even after that, cheap glasses generally meant ugly glasses, or at least not good glasses -- frames that would break, or that looked junky.
Zenni Optical changed all that. They make their own frames, so they have no retail overhead, no middlemen to pay for shipping, virtually no advertising budget, and all that means that they can sell you great frames and great lenses at super-low prices: starting at eight bucks a set.
That's how low their prices can be: $8 a pair of glasses, for prescription lenses. And even at $8, Zenni Optical's glasses are stylish and well-made. They could charge a lot more for them; they just don't.
You can get whatever fashion you'd like from them, and almost any prescription, including progressive lenses, sunglasses, and more. So you can have glasses that express your own personal style and fashion -- and still not spend an arm a leg for it.
Zenni says they keep their prices low because they believe that glasses are important: They're a health need, and Zenni believes they shouldn't be outrageously expensive. They take pride in being able to get you the glasses you need, in a style you want, at a price you'll love.
That's why I keep mentioning them, and that's why you should check them out if you need glasses.
