Reader DJ Emir -- that's him at the right -- weighed in the other day on the almost a year old post The 10 Best Songs That Make You Feel Good (and Then Feel Bad About Feeling Good), and I make the point that it's almost a year old because it's been continuously at the top of the list of the most-viewed posts on this site, so you readers are, like me, a complicated bunch of people with complex emotions -- as shown by DJ Emir's addition to that list:
The song "Landslide" By Stevie Nicks & Fleetwood Mac always gets to me. It Starts off with a nice melody and it feels happy at first. At first it just sounds like the person's reflecting on happy memories of a friend but as soon as it says "Children get older... I'm getting older too" it sounds more like reflecting on a life that is passing bay way too quickly and that landslide will bring us down cauuse I know it brings me down. :( -
I almost missed that his emoticon has a goatee, which is awesome. That's the first time I've seen that and as someone who's invented his own emoticon, I respect the heck out of DJ Emir just for that alone. (Check out his site here.) But I also respect him because he's right and took the time to let us all know about the song that we'll all use now, today, to mull over our lives, get a little choked up, then use that as an excuse to go buy that double cheeseburger at Sonic.
What, that's just me? No way! You don't all do that, too? What's the matter with you people, are you made of stone? Here's the song:
DJ Emir, by the way, also likes sweet potatoes, but don't hold that against him.
