He also wrote my least favorite Twilight Zone episode ever, the one where Larry Tate's kids buy a robot to replace their mom and then instead of anything interesting happening we skip forward to them going off to school and bawling with the robot and then it floats off like Mary Poppins or something. Ugh.

When I read "Bonfire of the Vanities" a few years ago it was surprising how much of it is as relevant now as it was in the 80s.PT Dillowayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09394481476862013009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25097758.post-51742764834044134362010-05-05T16:25:26.226-06:002010-05-05T16:25:26.226-06:00I agree about the complex issues -- but they may b...I agree about the complex issues -- but they may be better presented in ways that kids can understand or relate to nowadays. There are so many complex moral and character based issues in his work that it is worth poring through. But perhaps NOT for the average high school student :-)80sMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04885870756242342659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25097758.post-55321956753513462302009-11-08T22:12:08.136-07:002009-11-08T22:12:08.136-07:00Great post.
